Details

This mala is made from true Bodhi seeds, known in Buddhism as Buddha Chitta, meaning the mind of awakening. These sacred seeds come from the Ziziphus Budhensis tree and are used in Mahayana and Vajrayana practice for mantra, prayer, and meditation.

Bodhi beads are not just seeds. They are a support for the path to enlightenment. In Vajrayana, a mala is like a spiritual companion. With every mantra you recite, the beads slowly absorb your practice, your intention, and your blessings.

These seeds are often called Phoenix Eye Bodhi because of the natural eye shape on each bead. This eye reminds practitioners of awareness, wisdom, and the all seeing compassion of the Buddhas.

These beads are sourced from Timal region of Nepal. The trees grow in wild mountain areas. Out of hundreds of old trees, we often collect only enough for 10 to 15 malas in 8 to 9 mm size, and sometimes, it is even less. Collecting these beads is not easy work. It takes long travel through mountain paths and careful hand selection. Because of this, large, well shaped beads are rare and valuable.

These are Natural Bodhi seeds. After harvest, the beads are gently oiled, sun dried, and stored safely. Over time, this brings out their deep natural dark color.

As you use this mala, it will not fade. Instead, it becomes more beautiful. With regular practice, the surface grows smooth and shiny. Many practitioners say after long use, the beads shine so much you can almost see your reflection. This is a sign of connection between the mala and your practice.

Bead Variation & Natural Character:
Every Bodhi mala is all natural. The beads may vary in size, shape, texture, and color, reflecting their growth in nature. For example, a 8–9 mm mala may contain beads ranging approximately from 8.0 mm to 9.9 mm, with none exceeding 10 mm. Some beads may have small rubbed or smoothed areas near the hole, which is traditional and prevents cracks over time.

The color of the beads develops naturally. Some darker malas are nourished with natural mustard oil and gentle hand rubbing, enhancing their appearance. No dyes, chemicals, or artificial treatments are used. With continued handling and practice, beads may gradually darken and develop a subtle shine, reflecting your personal meditation journey.
