Details

This mala is made from true Bodhi seeds (Ziziphus Budhensis), known in Buddhism as Buddha Chitta, which means the awakened mind. These seeds are connected with the path of the Buddha and are used for mantra, prayer, and meditation in Mahayana and Vajrayana traditions.

The beads measure about 9 to 10 mm in this mala with guru bead measures around 14 to 16mm. They are sourced from the Timal region of Nepal, where the trees grow naturally in wild mountain areas. From many old trees, only a small amount of good beads are found each season. Because of this, small size, round, well formed beads are rare and are expensive.

Details:
- This mala has 108 main beads plus 1, 3 eye guru bead
- Mala Length: Approx. 19 to 22 inches depends on quality grade you choose.

Bodhi Seed Quality Grades
Because Bodhi seeds are natural, every mala carries its own character and level of quality. At Om Kleem Kali, we classify our malas into three general grades based on bead size, quality, weight, seed structure, origin, and overall strength of the beads.

Regular Grade – Traditional Bodhi Mala
Regular grade malas are made with standard Bodhi seeds commonly used for daily mantra recitation and meditation. These beads may show more natural variation in shape, texture, and markings. They are authentic and suitable for regular practice while remaining accessible in price.

Medium Grade – Select Bodhi Mala
Medium grade malas are made from carefully selected Bodhi seeds with more consistent bead size, stronger seed structure, and a balanced overall appearance. These malas often have a slightly heavier feel, length is shorter then regular grade and cleaner bead patterns. They are well suited for practitioners looking for higher quality beads while still maintaining traditional character.

Rare Grade – Collector Bodhi Mala
Rare grade malas are exceptional pieces made from one of a kind Bodhi seeds. These mala feature smaller highly valued seed sizes, heavier weight, or particularly strong and well formed seeds. Such malas are difficult to assemble and are often considered collector level pieces.

The quality and price of a mala depend on several factors including bead size, total weight of the beads, origin of the seeds, strength and maturity of the seed structure, and the overall harmony of the beads. You know higher the price, higher the quality.

Gathering these seeds is slow and careful work. We travel through mountain trails in Timal and works closely with local farming families who have known these trees for generations. The beads are sorted by hand, and each one is selected for good shape and strong quality. These are natural color Bodhi seeds. After harvest, they are gently oiled, sun dried, and stored properly. Over time, this careful process brings out their rich, deep natural dark red tone.

As you use the mala for practice, the beads changes with you. Over time, they become smoother and more shiny from your hands and prayer, as monks say here that can see your reflection on the beads. Many practitioners believe this shine is a sign of connection between the mala and the mind of practice. This mala is a simple and powerful companion for anyone walking the Buddhist path.

This is 100% Genuine Bodhi Seed Mala, traditionally used for:
Mahayana and Vajrayana Practice
Mantra Recitation
Chenrezig Practice
Tara Practice
Guru Yoga
Any Vajrayana Sadhana

Om Kleem Kali Guarantee and Authenticity:
Today, many malas in the market are sold as Bodhi seed, but they are not genuine. True Ziziphus Budhensis Bodhi seeds in this 9 to 10 mm size and quality are rare. We are among the few Nepali sellers offering real Bodhi seed malas sourced directly from the mountain region of Temal.

Please understand, if you see an 9 to 10 mm Bodhi mala sold cheaper than ours, it is usually not real size Bodhi seed, or the beads are lower quality, mixed grade, or different material being sold under the Bodhi name. Small, well shaped, genuine beads are naturally limited.

Our margin on these malas is not high. We work directly with local collectors and farmers here in Nepal, so the price of this mala is very reasonable. The same quality is sold in Nepal for very high prices due to its rarity and demand.

For your peace of mind, if these are ever found not genuine 9 to 10 mm bodhi seed mala then we will refund you a full money no question asked!!!

We ship directly from Nepal. If you wish, we can take your mala to Syambunath or Boudhanath Stupa and offer prayers before shipping them.
