Guru Rinpoche Thangka, Lotus Born Master With Wisdom Dakinis

This sacred thangka depicts Padmasambhava, the Lotus-Born, who brought Vajrayana Buddhism to Tibet and remains the living heart of the Nyingma tradition. He stands in royal posture, vajra raised, skull cup of amrita in hand, the trident khatvanga resting at his shoulder, marking his union with the wisdom of the dakinis. 

With him are his two principal consorts, Yeshe Tsogyal and Mandarava, who embody the wisdom and power that complete his enlightened activity. They are not attendants, they are co-equal holders of the lineage, the ones who received, practiced, and transmitted his most profound teachings. Together, this triad represents the inseparability of method and wisdom, the very basis of Vajrayana path.
