Details

This beautiful Padmapani Lokeshvara statue was made in the late 1980 A.D., more than 40 years ago. It is crafted from silver, copper and natural stones like Turquoise, Agate, Lapis etc. A combination that was rarely made even during that time. Today, silver statues like this are hardly made and require luck and patience to find one

In the late 1980s and early 1990s, silver was more affordable, and a few master artisans created sacred images using real silver sheets over a copper body and with natural stones. Even then, they were not common. Now, the price of silver has increased so much that making a large silver statue for commercial purposes is no longer practical. Because of this, vintage silver statues have become highly collectible.

The price we offer for this piece is very reasonable compared to the cost of producing a new silver statue today. It would cost much more to recreate something similar in the present time.

Padmapani Lokeshvara
Padmapani is a compassionate form of Avalokiteshvara, the Bodhisattva who hears the cries of the world. In Buddhist tradition, he stands beside Amitabha Buddha in Sukhavati Heaven, guiding beings toward liberation.

He gently holds a lotus flower in his left hand, symbolizing purity rising from the mud of suffering. His right hand shows the varada mudra, the gesture of blessing and generosity. An antelope skin rests across his shoulders, a traditional sign of renunciation and spiritual discipline. He wears the ornaments of a bodhisattva, representing wisdom, compassion, and enlightened experience.

His crown rises above his calm face, and his hair is tied in a top knot. In some depictions, a small image of Amitabha appears in the crown. When that image is not shown, Padmapani is often represented in white form instead of red.

The soft shine of silver gives this statue a peaceful and noble aura. Over time, silver developed a natural patina, adding depth and character. This aging process makes vintage pieces even more special, as each mark reflects time, prayer, and history.

This statue is a 40 year old sacred artwork from the Himalayan region, created during a time when traditional metalwork was still deeply connected to devotional practice. It is suitable for serious collectors, temples, meditation halls, or anyone building a meaningful Buddhist shrine.
